At Uplift College Advising, we believe meaningful change happens when caring individuals come together to uplift others. As a nonprofit organization serving immigrant, first-generation, second-generation, and adult learners, we invite you to share your time, skills, and lived experience to help learners access education, opportunity, and long-term success.

Your expertise—whether academic, professional, or personal—can be the key that helps someone move closer to their goals.

Ways You Can Help Open Doors

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and disciplines. Opportunities include:

Tutoring & Academic Support

  • Support learners in English as a Second Language (ESL) (mixed-level instruction)
  • Assist with GED® preparation
  • Support TOEFL® preparation for college-bound learners
  • Provide encouragement, accountability, and learning support

College, Career & Advising Support

  • Assist learners with college, community college, or technical school pathways
  • Support career exploration and planning
  • Help learners understand application steps and educational systems

Technology & Digital Access

  • Help learners navigate Zoom, online platforms, and digital tools
  • Support technology and workforce readiness skills

Workshops & Group Facilitation

Lead or support virtual workshops on:

  • College preparation
  • Financial literacy
  • Digital skills
  • Life and career readiness

Marketing, Outreach & Communications

  • Support social media, content creation, or outreach campaigns
  • Assist with graphics, newsletters, or storytelling (with consent)

Fundraising, Grants & Development

  • Assist with grant research or writing
  • Support donor engagement or fundraising initiatives
  • Help plan or promote community fundraising events

Administrative & Program Support

  • Data entry, scheduling, or email communication
  • Volunteer coordination and program organization
